Replicate

The Replicate command reproduces selected fields to other labels on a page and maintains a link between them.

Replicated fields are exact duplicates of the original. They remain tied to the original field and take on any changes made to the original field. For example, if you move the original field, all replicated fields will move to the same location on their respective labels. Replicated fields cannot be edited independently.

NOTE: To duplicate a field that is editable, use the Duplicate command or the Copy and Paste commands.

The Replicate command lets you reproduce field(s) on all labels on the page, all labels in the same row, or all labels in the same column.

Here are the command's specific options:

  • Single Labels:

  • All Labels:

  • Current Row:

  • Current Column:

Field(s) appear only on the label on which they are placed. This is the default.

Replicate selected field(s) on every label on the page.

Replicate selected field(s) on every label in the current row only.

Replicate selected field(s) on every label in the current column only.

To replicate fields to other labels on the page:

        1. Hold the Shift key while you click on each field you would like to replicate.

        2. Choose Edit > Replicate.

        3. Select either all labels, current row, or current column. The replicated fields appear on the other appropriate labels on the page in a blue/green color.

NOTE: To change the color in which the replicated object appears, choose Options > Preferences. Open the Label Design tab and click the Replication Color button.
