Duplicate

(CTRL+D)

The Duplicate command copies selected fields to other locations on the label or to other labels on a page, without maintaining a link between the fields.

Because the duplicated fields do not remain tied to the original field, they do not take on any changes made to the original field. Each duplicated field can be edited independently.

NOTE: To replicate a field that will maintain all of the original field's modifications, use the Replicate command.

The Duplicate command lets you control the number of rows and columns, the spacing, and the rotation of the duplicated fields.

Here are the specific settings you can adjust:

Field

Description

Rows

Enter the number of times you would like the field displayed vertically (including the original).

Columns

Enter the number of times you would like the field displayed horizontally (including the original).

Row spacing

Enter the distance you would like between the top of the original field object and the top of the object in the next row.

Column spacing

Enter the distance you would like between the left of the original field object and the left of the object in the next column.

Rotation

Enter the number of degrees of rotation you would like to add to each duplicated object. For example:

  1. Select an object that is not rotated.

  2. Choose Edit > Duplicate. The Duplicate window appears.

  3. Enter:
    Rows
    : 3
    Rotation
    : 10

  4. Click OK. The results are objects rotated 0, 10 and 20 degrees.
