The
command merges data from a text, or CSV data file onto your label.When merging a data file with a label field:
Select the data file
Select the fields to merge from the data file
Specify the type of object to place on the label (text is the default)
Select the starting record from the text file
NOTE: To create fields from Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, the general OLE DB Provider, ODBC, or a text file use the Data Sources pane.
To merge a data file with a label field:
Choose Merge File Field window appears.
TheClick the Open window appears.
button. TheChange the Files of type drop-down selection to All Files (*.*).
Select a text or CSV file and click Merge File Field window reappears with the file name in the Merge Files column.
. TheHighlight the file name and click Add Label Fields window appears.
. TheSelect the fields to add by checking the appropriate boxes.
(Optional) To connect all selected fields into one field object, check the box Combine fields into one object.
Click the appropriate radio button to add the field/s as text, a bar code, or a picture.
Click Merge File Field window reappears.
. TheHighlight the file name and click File Info window appears.
. TheClick repeatedly on the
buttons to display the starting record.Click the Use Value radio button to fill the label with the data associated with the field
or
Click the Use Field radio button to fill the label with the field information.
Enter the number of times to use each record in the Value box
Click Merge File Field window reappears.

. The label appears with the data file field names serving as placeholders.
