Data Sources Pane

The Data Sources pane stores databases you have added and lets you add the databases to your label.

NOTE: You may need administrator rights to set up databases.

To add a database to the Data Sources pane:

      1. Open the Data Sources pane by clicking on it.

      2. Right click inside the white portion of the pane. The Add Database menu appears.

      3. Click Add Database. The Database Connection Wizard window appears.

      4. Select the database type by clicking on the appropriate radio button: Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, General OLE DB Provider, ODBC, Text File, or enLabel IPM. A database-specific window appears.

      5. Enter the requested information (generally the database name, passwords and path).

      6. Click the Test Connection button to make sure the database is configured correctly.

      7. Click Finish.

    To add a database field to a label:

      1. Open the Data Sources pane by clicking on it.

      2. Click the plus sign next to the database name to display tables.

      3. Click the plus sign next to a table to display fields.

      4. Select a field and drag it onto the label. A menu appears.

      5. Select Create Text, Create Barcode, or Create Picture. The field appears on the label.

        NOTE: To modify the field's properties, right click on it and select Properties.

        NOTE: You can also add database fields by clicking on the Database Setup icon Database icon, and following the Database Connection Setup directions.
