The Stripping tab is used to remove characters and spaces from the text object.
This is normally used to remove unnecessary spaces in data that's been merged from a database. It can also be used to strip characters in linked objects.

Strip Matching Characters |
Check Strip Leading, Strip Trailing, or both, and enter the character/characters to remove from the beginning and/or end of the text. NOTE: By default, spaces are stripped. |

Strip Specific Number Of Characters |
Check this box and enter the number of characters to remove from the beginning and/or end of the text. |

Strip Matching Characters First |
Check to remove specific matching characters first, then remove the specified number of characters from the beginning and/or end of the text. NOTE: If this is not checked, the number of characters specified are removed first. |
