Grid Settings

The Grid Settings command allows you to configure the style, spacing, display frequency, and color  of the grids. You can use a grid that is displayed as a series of lines, points, or cross hairs. Selecting this command displays the Grid Settings dialog.

Field

Description

Style

Select a grid that uses lines, points, or cross hairs. For the cross hairs style of grid, the size of the cross hairs increases as you zoom in on a region.

Resolution

Set the grid spacing, using the current units. You can set the X and Y values independently.

Frequency

Set the frequency at which the grid points are shown on the screen. A value of 1 means every grid line or point appears, while a value of 2 indicates every other grid point appears.

NOTE: A minimum number of pixels is maintained between grid points to avoid a grid that's too dense.

Grid Color

Select the grid color.
