The Code 11 bar code (also known as USD-8) is used for labeling in the telecommunications industry.
The code's symbology is a high-density, variable-length, numeric code that includes the dash character. Each character is a fixed width of five elements, three bars and two spaces.
The Code 11 bar code requires at least one check digit, and may be encoded with a second optional check digit.
NOTE: If the bar code is longer than 10 characters, it is recommended that two check digits be used.
