Add or Change a Text Field

Once you have created a label, you can add field objects to complete your design.

There are several ways to add a text field. Text field objects can be added by using the menu, the tool bar icon or the Drag and Drop feature from the toolbox.

First, make sure that wizards are disabled. Then use one of these methods to add a text field and the Text Properties window will appear.

  • Choose Tools > Text, then click on the location to place the text on your label.

  • OR

  • Click the Text Tool icon , then click on the location to place the text on your label.

  • OR

  • Click the Default Objects panel in the toolbox, then click on the Text Tool and drag it to the location to place the text on your label.

To add a constant text field:

Add a constant text field to enter information to print on every label.

      • Add a text field using one of the above methods.

      • Once the Rich Text Properties window appears, highlight Constant in the Data Type box under the Data tab.

      • Enter the text to print on every label in the Current Value box.

      • Click Check Spelling to check the spelling of the information in the Current Value box.

      • (Optional) To change the font, click on the Font tab then click More to select the appropriate font, size and effects. Click OK.

      • (Optional) To name the field click on the Name and Location tab, then enter a name in the Field Name box.

      • NOTE: It is good practice to name the field so it can be easily identified.

      • Click OK.

To add a constant text field that is entered when you print the label:

Add a prompt at print time text field to save space for information entered at print time.
