Add a Bar Code Field

Add a bar code field with your symbology, or bar code type, of choice.

There are several ways to add a bar code field. Bar code field objects can be added by using the menu, the toolbar icon or the Drag and Drop feature from the toolbox.

First, make sure that wizards are disabled. Then use one of these methods to add a bar code field and the Bar Code Properties window appears.

Choose Tools > Bar Code, then click the location to place the bar code on your label.
OR
Click the Bar Code Tool icon , then click the location to place the bar code on your label.
OR
Click the Default Objects panel, then click the Bar Code Tool and drag it to the location to place the bar code on your label.
OR
Click the Standard Bar Codes panel, then click the tool for the appropriate bar code and drag it to the location to place the bar code on your label.

To add a constant bar code field:

Add a constant bar code field to enter information to print on every label.

- 1. Add a bar code field using one of the above methods.
  2. Once the Bar Code Properties window appears, highlight Constant in the Data Type box under the Data tab.
  3. Select the symbology in the Symbology drop-down box. The tabs change based upon your selection.
  4. Enter the bar code text to print on every label in the Current Value box.
  5. click any tab to set additional bar code properties.
  6. Click OK.
